The latest wave of blockchain revolution has taken the art world by storm in a relatively short period of time, with NFTs pushing us to rethink the concepts of ownership and value that is assigned to artistic creations. It has also brought about big changes for artists who would like to participate in the blockchain economy.

With galleries and intermediaries out of the way, artists need to think of different ways to attract and appeal to a new growing base of supporters and collectors and find new ways to promote their art in the growing digital art market.

If you have been investing your knowledge, time, and passion into making NFTs, but haven’t been successful in reaching the engagement or sales levels you’d like to achieve, you should read about the top 4 strategies that have helped our artists promote their NFTs and make successful sales! Sometimes even well-known artists don’t get as much attention because they lack community interaction and promotional activities.

Community is what matters — seek out existing ones

When you start as a blockchain artist, you should join new communities and interact with them as much as you can. Use social media to your advantage. Plunge into existing communities on Twitter and Discord — they are currently the most used platforms in the NFT space.

We recommend that you find groups and channels where people share interests with you and grow your connections from there. Engage with people and be active, reach out to them and share what you are passionate about. Don’t be afraid to ask the community for their opinion and join discussions when you can. For example, you can present yourself and your art, engage with other artists and promote your work on CNFT Twitter Spaces hosted by Cardano community members.

Try starting your own community

If you already have a following on social media, supporters or fellow artists and collectors, invite them to engage with your community and try to gather like-minded, supportive individuals. Connect with other artists and share ideas for growth and promotion because breaking out in the blockchain space is challenging for a lot of creatives. You’re not alone in this!

One of the ways you can start building your community is via a personal Discord channel which is dedicated to updates, showing work in progress or even streaming some part of your creative process for your community. You can also do giveaways from time to time and show appreciation to early supporters. Be sincere, people will recognize and appreciate it!

Building a community is a long-term project and it may take some time. You won’t see instant rewards in terms of following, but it is one of the more effective ways for artists to have continuous communication with their collectors, gain support, and ensure future growth.

We are social animals — Collaboration is Key

Think about joining forces with established artists in the NFT space. Everyone has “that NFT friend”, and if not you can easily find them on social media. People we have come across are very inclusive and love to share what they know, so you will definitely find support for collaborations online.

Collaborations also expose you to the other artist’s network, and you can even join a collective or a guild with multiple artists and work in an online, studio-like setting.

Paid options for NFT promotion

Paid promotions range from influencer marketing to boosting your NFTs on the marketplace of your choice. You can pay marketplaces to promote your NFTs on their main page. This can give priority to your NFTs, but remember that this is only temporary. While this may seem like a good option to gain more exposure, keep track of the funds you invest in promotion and what you earn as a blockchain artist.

Make no mistake, sometimes paid promotions are a great way to show off your artistic talent, just make sure they are not the only marketing option you have. Combining different kinds of promotional activities, along with your own organic audience of collectors and supporters seems like the best way to establish a long-term engagement between your audience and your artworks.

*Disclaimer: some promoters will reach out to you and offer millions of followers. We strongly advise against engaging with these people as they mostly hire bots. Organic growth is key to growing your collector base.
