THE SECRET OF BLOCKCHAIN ARTIST MIGRATIONS TO CARDANO

If you clicked on this article, chances are you already know blockchain basics, you have heard about Bitcoin or Ethereum, and maybe you know a bit about Cardano. But if by some weird coincidence your cat decided to sit on your laptop and butt-clicked its way here — here is a short intro on the topic:

Cardano is a fully open-source, decentralized public blockchain and cryptocurrency project that is developing a smart contract platform that seeks to deliver more advanced features than any protocol previously developed. You may not know this but it is the first blockchain platform to evolve out of a scientific philosophy and a research-first-driven approach.

Recently, Cardano hit a big milestone: 1760 days without outages! This means that Cardano has proven its reputation as one of the most stable networks in the cryptocurrency industry.

This is one of many reasons why Artano found its home there — and we are on a mission: to bring more artists and collectors to this sustainable and decentralized blockchain.

However, through our research on the marketing strategies of other chains, we can see that this is exactly what Cardano is lacking. Many chains use a centralized foundation to fund their marketing. For example, Tezos has launched a $25M fund to finance their adoption efforts through marketing, while Solana launched a $100M fund for marketing alone. These two chains attract a lot of talent that could be coming to Cardano first!

We do not have the luxury of a centralized fund (at least not the VC backing of some of these chains), and we need to use tools like Project Catalyst to accelerate our marketing efforts and raise awareness of Cardano’s global potential. We have to do this before centralized chains occupy what could be Cardano’s position in the creative industry. As time passes, other chains are attracting even more private funding, which gives them enough resources to become so easy to use that many won’t want to switch to a chain with a potential for global adoption.

So, what can we do?

The Cardano community has one key advantage — the biggest decentralized fund out of all the chains we mentioned. We can support marketing efforts in Fund9 of Catalyst. One of the efforts of our core team is to attract leaders from the art, music, and other creative industries to our chain, so that we can accelerate the adoption and usage of Cardano. Our proposal is currently under review on Project Catalyst. You can read more about it in the following link and vote for our proposal once voting is open: https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/414614/comments

The second thing we have been doing is talking directly to talented artists from other blockchains and informing and educating them on the benefits of Cardano! This approach has worked well so far and we are proud that we have been able to welcome amazing artists to Artano like: Kriez, Custom Horror, Lunatico, Acid Button, The Heartist Artist, VPanchin and many more.

However, this second approach will only work if the whole community takes its own precious time to have one on one conversations with artists and collectors alike. But this is not something we can expect everyone to do.

Here at Artano, we have learned that great code is 50% of the work spent building a great software product. The other 50% is about getting people to know that the amazing product you’ve built exists — and that there are so many brilliant products out here on Cardano. We all just need some help and support to bring the space up to its full potential and make it the number one choice for talented artists from around the world.

Care to join us on our mission?
